The Assassin
He moves in the shadows
He moves in the dark
Quicker than a leopard,
To reach his mark
“Bloodstains never goeth”, he was told
“So you should be fast, swift, brave and bold”
Bearing this fact, in his mind,
He embarks on a job, One of a kind
He was ordered to ‘escort’ a senator to the grave,
Then escape unnoticed, unscathed, from his guarded enclave
He crept stealthily into the mansion,
Strangled the guard and took his position.
He went to the kitchen, to poison the chicken,
After killing the cook,
He slipped back out, went into the shadows
And took to a dark little nook.
There he waited for the outcome of his job,
Just then his eyes saw a shouting mob.
As he saw the mob, he knew his job was done
No-one would suspect that he was the one.
He moves in the shadows
He moves in the dark
Quicker than a leopard,
Getting away from his mark.
